After the inaugural event in 2014, Tka’s Eternal Life Ball Hockey Tournament is back! Register by July 10th for this year’s tournament to be held in Surrey from August 28th – August 30th at Unwin Park. The tournament raises funds for supporting kids in sports such as paying for their registration fees. The funds raised will be donated to organizations like Kidsport.
This year’s tournament is anticipating over 20 teams, with over 150 players and over 40 volunteers. Teams from all regions of British Columbia and Alberta are welcome to participate.
The tournament is celebrating the life of Taranveer (Tka) Dhillon, who had a love for sports especially hockey. He was known to play on a few adult teams while he lived in Surrey. One of his biggest passions was watching children flourish with confidence and doing what they love.
“Tka was full of spirit and lived his life with excitement and passion,” says Manpreet Dhillon, Chair of the Tka’s Eternal Life Society and Tka’s sister. “We’re excited to bring a ball hockey tournament to Surrey – a sport Tka loved. It’s the best way to bring the community together and celebrate his life.”
The co-ed tournament is an adult tournament. Prizes are up for grabs for winning teams. Registration is open until July 10th, 2015. Details are available at www.tkaseternallife.org.
